NASCAR will this weekend travel to Concord, North Carolina, for two races at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Camping World Truck Series will races as usual but Sprint Cup Series will have their annual Sprint All-Star Race instead (no points awarded). Charlotte Motor Speedway, formerly Lowe´s Motor Speedway, opened for racing in 1960. The track is quad oval shaped and is 2.4 km (1.5 mile) long. Surface is asphalt with four turns, banking in the straits are 9° and in the turns 24°. Lap record is held by Tony Stewart with 24.490 seconds in 1998 (IndyCar Series). The stands currently capacity are 94 000 seats.
