NASCAR Weekend Schedule at Michigan and Gateway

NASCAR Xfinity Series and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will this weekend travel to Michigan International Speedway, located at Brooklyn, Michigan. The teams of the Camping World Truck Series will travel to  Gateway Motorsports Park. Michigan International Speedway, former Michigan Speedway, opened for racing in 1968 (repaved 2012). The track is a D shaped superspeedway oval and is 3.2 km (2 mile) long. Surface is asphalt with four turns, banking in turns; 18°, frontstretch; 12° and backstretch; 5°. Lap record, for NASCAR Series, is held by Jeff Gordon with 206.558 mph in 2014. Most wins by an active driver at Michigan International Speedway is Matt Kenseth (35 races) and Kurt Busch (32 races)  with 3 wins. Capacity: 71 000 race fans.
