Freddy Nordstrom is delighted to announce his return to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series for the 2017 motor racing season. Now in his sixth consecutive season in the competitive series, London-based Freddy has returned to CAAL Racing for the second year in succession.
During an official test day at the Autodromo di Franciacorta in Italy on Friday 3rd March, Freddy was united with his 2017 race car. Autodromo di Franciacorta is a new circuit to the NWES, and will be the scene of the semi-final round in September.
A successful day on track saw Freddy match his team mate for pace, much to his delight. “Our times were very similar, which is encouraging” said Freddy. “Despite running used tyres, the car felt great, and it’s satisfying to know how well it runs, even on old rubber.”
The first round will take place at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, during the weekend of 8th-9th April. Comprising six circuits in total, Freddy will have the pleasure of visiting some new circuits during 2017.
From Valencia, NWES heads back to the UK, to Freddy’s home circuit, Brands Hatch. Then to Raceway Venray in the Netherlands, Hockenheimring in Germany, Autodromo di Franciacorta in Italy, before the season finale at Zolder in Belgium.
